Christian Lockhart, LPC/MHSP

Christian is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Tennessee. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Maryville College in 2011, he worked with adolescents in residential treatment facilities for two years while earning a Master of Education in Counseling from Lincoln Memorial University in 2013. Christian has spent the last decade working in higher education helping adults of all ages navigate a variety of concerns. He specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, past or current trauma, grief and loss, low self-esteem, relationship issues and identity exploration. He is passionate about helping clients navigate life transitions and has a special interest in working with clients exploring career development and emerging adulthood issues.

Christian focuses on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can share their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors freely. While he tends to incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and lifestyle changes into his approach, Christian is an eclectic therapist who provides individualized care based on clients’ needs and tailors his counseling approach to make sure clients are getting the most out of their sessions. He takes a collaborative approach and values the unique experience of each client, working together to better understand the root cause of clients’ concerns and help them learn new ways of managing troubling thoughts and feelings.  In addition to working with clients individually, he finds fulfillment in supporting the development of new counseling professionals and has supervised counseling interns from counseling, social work, and clinical psychology programs.

Outside of his professional role, Christian spends his leisure time playing video games, competing in local adult soccer leagues, and being with friends and loved ones.
