Julie Lamb, LPC/MHSP

Julie is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Tennessee. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Florida State University and a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from New Orleans Seminary. She began working in the mental health counseling field in 2008 and has worked in a variety of settings. In the past, Julie has worked in both residential and outpatient programs focusing on mental health, as well as substance use issues. She also has experience providing therapy to professional students in doctoral and medical school programs, along with law students and Masters level students.

Julie primarily works with adults and highly motivated teens (16-18 years old) who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, mood swings, relationship conflict and communication, trauma and abuse. She integrates treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Meditation. She approaches trauma and abuse from a person-centered standpoint and will utilize techniques from Narrative Therapy, Inner Child approach, and is trained in Brainspotting. Using Brainspotting techniques, Julie has found value in helping clients connect the body, brain and emotions in order to process issues in which a person feels stuck.

Deciding to come to therapy is not always easy and it is not always comfortable, but Julie considers it an honor and privilege to walk alongside people through difficult times and feelings. She seeks to provide a judgment free, warm, open and honest office environment. Julie enjoys celebrating and focusing on small victories her clients make and believes change is possible.
